Choosing Your Candle

How do I choose the right candle for my mood?

Each Beora London candle is crafted to support a specific intention — whether that's calm, energy, or relaxation. Browse the scent descriptions on each product page to find the mood that resonates with you. If you're buying as a gift, our collection pages are a great starting point.

What does scent throw mean?

Scent throw refers to how well a candle fragrance fills a room. Cold throw is the scent you notice from an unlit candle; hot throw is the fragrance released when the candle is burning. Our candles are formulated for a strong, balanced hot throw that fills the space without being overpowering.

How long will my candle burn?

Burn times vary by product and are listed on each product page. To get the most from your candle, follow our care guidance below and keep burns to no more than 2 hours at a time.

First Use & Candle Care

What should I do the very first time I light my candle?

The first burn is the most important. Allow the wax to melt all the way across the surface of the candle — ideally for at least 2 hours. This establishes an even melt pool and helps prevent tunnelling (where the wax burns down the centre, leaving a ring of unmelted wax around the edge).

Do I need to trim the wick?

Yes — before every burn, trim the wick to approximately 0.5 cm. This gives you a cleaner, more controlled flame and reduces soot and smoke. A wick that is too long can cause the flame to flicker or smoke excessively.

How long should I burn my candle each time?

We recommend burning your candle for no more than 2 hours at a time. Allow the wax and vessel to cool completely before relighting.

Are there any safety rules I should follow?

WARNING: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep away from children and pets. Keep away from anything that can catch fire. Always burn your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from draughts and open windows, and follow the safety instructions supplied with your candle. Never use water to extinguish the flame — use a candle snuffer or blow it out gently.

Refills & Vessel Reuse

Can I refill my Beora London vessel?

We love that you're thinking about it. Our candle vessels are designed to be refilled and reused, reducing unnecessary waste and letting you get even more from your Beora London experience. Once your candle has completely cooled, remove any remaining wax and clean the vessel with warm water. It can then be refilled, or repurposed as a planter, storage pot, bathroom accessory, or a beautiful piece of your home.
